I totally remembered us gathering a bunch of girls and convincing them to watch this cool "collage movie" with us. I don’t think I saw a single minute of it; I was too busy watching the girl next to me get closer and closer for every scene. The trick is to make sure you know the movie inside and out so you’re prepared when they jump in to you arms.
Somehow my good old friend didn’t serve me so well this time though. After ten minutes my girlfriend was sound asleep and I had to watch the whole thing by myself. I was left only to reminisce in what a stud I had been at the age of 14.
I wonder if I just have to man up and realize that the world has outgrown The Lost Boys. Could it be that in 23 years, movies have moved on to bigger and better things and people watching it for the first time today doesn’t see its brilliance?
Nope, that’s not it! The Lost Boys is a timeless Cult Classic. I just have to educate my girlfriend better in the wonderful world of 80’s greatness. And apparently of the fact that I’m still a stud!?
Ps. Actor Corey Haim (in the middle) was found dead four days ago, after an accidental drug overdose. He was 38, and he will be missed.
